Wheat Harvest

After the beautiful summer greens, come the golden colours of wheat harvest. I arrived back in Ontario after travelling through the U.S.A. to experience Huron County wheat harvest at its fullest. The slide show below is a photo collection of wheat harvest. It demonstrates the diversity of ways wheat continues to be harvested in Ontario. In the Amish and Old Order Mennonite communities, much of the work continues to be done by horse drawn machinery and manual labour. In neighbouring fields, large combines and tractors assist with harvest.
