In September 2010, I had the pleasure to accompany the MCC Laos project team to deliver school kits, purchased locally, to three rural primary schools.
As the Country Program Administrator, it was my honour to give the students the school kits.
With initial nervousness followed by great delight, the Grade One and Two students received the school kits from the hands of a “foreigner”, bowing low to show their appreciation for the gift.
Parents looked on with great hope that their children would attain higher education than they had achieved.
At the third school, I was surprised to be the receiver of generous gifts of fresh produce from the gardens and forests of families from the school.
We had all been blessed to give and receive.

Looking forward in coming Wendy!! Who made up the school kits? MCC in North America?
MCC purchase the school supplies locally so that the notebooks have the appropriate lines for the students learning to write.
