A rooster crows from a nearby neighbour’s yard.
Birds chirp in the mango tree outside my bedroom window.
The ceiling fan makes a musical sound as it rotates and cools the room.
The gong-like sound from somewhere nearby makes me curious and I go in search of the creator of the sound. I discover two Buddhist monks striking the end a large-suspended drum in the court yard of the temple.
A 100 cc motorcycle can be heard making its way down the alley. I wonder how many people ride together – 2, 3, 4, or maybe even 5, if there are small children on board?
Hammers pound at the traditional wood home under renovations two doors down.
