The end of April 2014 I had the wonderful opportunity of traveling with the MCC Team and government partners to visit villages in Paek District for a new project. This trip provided a rich encounter with daily life in Paek District, Xieng Khouang Province. Thank you to all the villagers who graciously received our visit. It was in this district, almost 20 years ago, that MCC first worked with MAG (Mines Advisory Group) to begin the clearance of unexploded ordinance after the "American War" from 1964 to 1973.
