With the completion of the final bridge on the road to Tha Thom District, the adventures of traveling by boat in the rainy season or forging rivers in the dry season, are now only fond memories. The trip which used to take 1.5 days in the rainy season, is now only a 4-5 hour drive. The finished road now provides a link from northern provinces to the Capital and a link from Thailand to Vietnam. The impact these links will have on Tha Thom District are yet to fully unfold.
